Szeged-Timisoara Workshop on Differential Equations

Welcome to the website of the International Workshop on Differential Equations to be held in Szeged, Hungary, on April 20-22, 2012. This workshop is organized as part of the project Cross-Border Research of Functional Anlysis and Differential Equations, which involves a bilateral cooperation (partners: West University of Timisoara - Romania and University of Szeged - Hungary) within the framework of the Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 (www.huro-cbc.eu, www.hungary-romania-cbc.eu). The kind financial support of the European Union (by the European Regional Development Fund), as well as of our two countries is acknowledged with gratitude.
Arrival to Szeged
Szeged can be easily reached from Budapest, the capital of Hungary,
- by train, which can be taken from Budapest Airport Terminal 1 (it runs every hour and 13 minutes) or from Budapest-Nyugati railway station (it runs every hour); the exact schedule is available online at the website of the Hungarian railway company; the trip takes approximately two hours and 20 minutes; or
- by car: the two cities are linked by the M5 motorway (164 kilometers); the traditional e-vignette or matrica in the Hungarian language (the road tax) must be purchased before entering the motorway (it can be bought online at the address www.autopalyamatrica.hu; the cost is 2975 HUF, which is about 10 Euros, for 10 days).
The participants coming from Timisoara (Romania) could also travel by train (Timisoara Nord - Ketegyhaza - Szeged or Timisoara Nord - Bekescsaba - Szeged) or by car (follow the roads DN6 until Cenad, then 431 until the border, finally E68/43 until Szeged - a total of 113 kilometers).
Location
The lectures of the workshop will be hosted into the building of the Szeged Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (SZAB - Szegedi Akadémiai Bizottság) situated on Somogyi street no. 7, 6720 Szeged. You can find it on the map which is included below. Besides the locations of the main railway station and of the Bolyai Institute (the Mathematical Institute of the Faculty of Science and Informatics, University of Szeged), this map also contains a selection of hotels situated within a walking distance from the SZAB.
